The Founder

Sally Norman

Flower aficionado, growing gardener, world traveler, enthusiastic hostess and momtrepreneur.

As I often tell my sons, everyday is special when you spend it with the ones you love. Our story is one of love, heritage, progress, loss and most importantly, faith that the God who made us will work all things for our good.

My blogging journey began when we decided to DIY our wedding flowers. This was back in 2015 and I really didn’t have much of a budget for wedding flowers, but I knew I wanted to have colorful, abundant blooms to off-set the charcoal and cream color palette I had chosen. The flowers were exactly what I wanted, and cost me less than $1000. It ignited a new passion in me. I taught myself more about flower arranging and spent the next few years helping others with their wedding flowers.

However, with time comes change. As my family started growing, I felt that I no longer had the ability to work weddings on the weekend since that was when my kids and I could spend quality time with my husband. Additionally, my interests in flowers continued to grow and morph. I began gardening, purchased and started decorating our first (and then second) house, love hosting people for events and wanted to figure out how to incorporate flowers into what our life looks like now.

This blog is a reflection of that. Although the root of my floral interest is in weddings, I also want to explore other interests such as gardening, events, home decor, art, travel and family life. Thanks for joining in on this journey!

Joy

Happiness is fleeting, but joy resonates deep in our hearts and radiates into the lives of others. The goal of FloraCulture Lifestyle is to embody joy, even in unexpected, uncomfortable or painful experiences.

Connection

If comparison is the thief of joy, then I believe that human connection, truly knowing one another, amplifies our joy. My blog is a place to share about projects I am working on and the creative endeavors of others.

Exploration

Exploration, to me, is learning in the form of play. I so enjoy learning about new people, places and things in our world, as well as ideas. FloraCulture Lifestyle is a chronicling of my personal and professional explorations.

As a blogger, I love connecting with other bloggers, flower-enthusiasts, wedding professionals and creatives. Reach out if you are interested in collaborating together.
